Bear's Gold (Erotic Shifter Fairy Tales) Page 15

Again she’d called, earlier today to tell them about the baby. Riley had led her mother to believe that she’d been pregnant when she came home but had not realized it. That was easier than revealing the secret of Den County, one that was now hers to protect as well. Her father seemed to understand a little more, however, she knew that was because of his Native American lineage and faith. If it hadn’t been for that faith, she may have never been guided back to Theo.

That thought made her heart ache.

She and Theo sat in silence as they stared out at the flowing river. Riley couldn’t help but rejoice at how settled her life had become. She no longer had the restless feeling that caused her to run away. Finally, she’d run to her destiny and had no desire to be anywhere else.

Next year after the baby was a year old, she’d start teaching the preschoolers. She and Kaley had discussed it at length by radio during the winter months.

“Have I told you that I love you and how fulfilled I feel with you and the boys and soon this little one?” She patted her stomach.

He kissed the curve of her shoulder over her second mark. “Yes, but I love hearing it.”

  “I love you, Theodore Kodiak.”

Lifting her, he pulled her into his lap. She fussed at him, “I’m too big for you to pick up.”

His strong arms surrounded her. “Never.” Staring into her eyes, he said, “I love you. You’re my golden treasure. More precious to me than anything. I’m glad the Raven Spirit guided you back to me.”

Leaning down, she whispered against his lips. “So am I.”

  Then she kissed him.

  About the Author

I've been penning erotic tales since 2006, on the hedonistic side of the romance genre. However, I've been writing romance under a different pen for a while. I'm eclectic by nature. My stories range from paranormal, contemporary, BDSM, sci-fi and historical. Mostly short stories, but occasional full-length novels.

I'm married to my best friend. A guy that makes me laugh 'til I can't breathe and one who steals my breath every time he walks into a room. I believe in happily ever after like the rising of the sun depended on it.

Ryanne McCall couldn’t take another season of why aren’t you married, when are you going to have kids kind of Christmas. When she sees an ad for a single’s retreat in her inbox she doesn’t need any more of an excuse to ditch the family affair.

However, she is in for a shock when she arrives at Village Resort and discovers that “home” has followed her to Colorado, in the form of Carson Rodman. Ryanne remembered Carson as the sweet, kind, skinny boy next door with the hot older brother. She never would have imagined he’d turned out to be a successful and confident man who could halt her breath with one dark, smoldering glance.

Carson and his family had never been ‘tight-knit’ and spending holidays together never formed in their plans. After a year of nursing a bad break-up he allows his best friend to convince him they should spend the holiday on the slopes picking up single snow bunnies. When he literally bumps into a woman from his past that he has never been able to get out of his wet dreams, he knows that this wonderland vacation has turned into paradise. Years ago, he missed his chance with Ryanne, but he refuses to allow her to get away again.
